About

Hello there,

I’m Elinor and I’m a PhD candidate in Classics at the University of Leeds. My research primarily focuses on the treatment of ‘The Other’ in Roman culture and society. I’m currently researching captives in the Roman world and I’ve previously looked at such topics as: disability, the concept of ‘celebrity’, the Jewish diaspora, and damnatio memoriae in Ancient Rome.

When I’m not obsessing over Romans, I love to travel, visit art galleries and museums, and write. This blog will mostly be about Classics and History but there will be the occasional travel post as I’m usually plotting some escape!

I’m currently attempting to post once a month so watch this space! And please let me know what you think of the blog!

If you like my writing, please take a peek at my travel itineraries for Rome and Berlin on Amazon.com.

Thanks for reading!
